One of my clinical areas of focus is helping young women recognize the effects of internalized sexism and start to live a more empowered and authentic life where they can begin to exercise their own voice and show up as the person they are truly meant to be.
Too often girls and women are silenced, abused, overlooked, and objectified…it is my joy and privilege to help my clients gain a mindful awareness of how everyday oppression can no longer influence us and direct our actions or inaction. Through conversation and experiential work, clients will build skill around recognizing and unhooking from unhelpful internalized messages, enhance self-compassion and ability to weather emotional storms, and connect with personal strengths and values to take committed action and build a more rich, full and meaningful life.
If you would like to free yourself from the invisible barriers that may be holding you back, please email me at kelly@kellywhitecounseling to set up an intake appointment.
I hail from the great state of Wisconsin and have intimate knowledge of what it is like to grow up in a Midwestern family and live in Midwest culture. There are so many Midwestern transplants in the Pacific Northwest, and you may find it helpful to have a therapist who understands where you come from and the dynamics you may be struggling with.
